Scouts and siblings galore! Moms with cameras! Dads with pride, which always comes before the fall! Gentlemen, press your release button!

He did his best, yes, indeedy, one of only two siblings who entered cars. As if he wouldn't be involved in something his brother was...
As far as the blogosphere knows, Ty won first place, undefeated. The nifty sheet of paper with Ty's name forged onto it indicates "Coolest Design," a consolation prize meant for some other kid who didn't spank the competition. We're at a loss as to how it got into his hands.

Pinewood Derby! The time when dads get to become Cubs again. Awesome. I love that they give all the consolation prizes. What I did not love was the year they decided to do away with The Fastest Car prize, and Jackson's car won every single heat. He spanked everyone else (which is totally happenstance, who can plan that sort of thing?) and came away with, "Neatest Application of Number Stickers" or something stupid like that. :(

What fun for the boys. Grady can't wait and i am sure Papa Glenn will help out too. Grady was so upset when his 'winning' car got broken a couple of years ago. He swears him and his dad got it all figured out....

I remember a year quite vividly when a scout showed up with his father and grandfather and was only allowed to hold THE WOODEN BOX they had carved to display the car in. Only his father and grandfather were allowed to touch the actual car which, needless to say, beat all the other cars. I haven't seen so many confused, sad faced boys in a long time.
